Inflatable projector screens are a fantastic option for outdoor movie nights, large gatherings, and events where you need a big screen that’s easy to set up and take down. Here are the best inflatable projector screens in 2024, offering portability, ease of use, and impressive screen sizes.
1. Gemmy Airblown Inflatable Movie Screen
Specifications
Screen Size: 12 feet diagonal
Material: Durable polyester fabric
Setup Time: 20 minutes
Pros
Included blower
Durable fabric designed for outdoor use
Elevated screen for better viewing angles
Cons
Requires continuous power for blower
Requires some setup
Why I Recommend It
A lot of the screens you see below are very much the same. 1 piece construction where the screen inflates with the base. That's why the Gemmy Airblown model sets itself apart as being a little more well-thought-out and premium than others. Firstly, you will notice that the back is slightly elevated from the ground, making for a better viewing angle and greater stability without sag when anchored. Secondly, the screen is separate and needs to be mounted using a strap system. Of course, this isn’t as fast as setting the blower and forgetting options, but it means the screen can be removed and wrinkles removed, as well as being less scrunched and wrinkled when storing.
It's a continuous blower, but it's fairly quiet when you are a few meters away, and with sound playing through speakers, it can be detected. It's also very well made using materials that give a good degree of waterproofing, so it shouldn’t be waterlogged if you were to leave it out overnight.
As mentioned, it is a little more expensive than other options on the list, but it does feel much more premium (other than the Vivo home, which I think is on a par).
2. VIVOHOME Inflatable Outdoor Movie Projector Screen
Specifications
Screen Size: 14 feet diagonal
Material: Polyester fabric
Setup Time: 5 minutes
Pros

Comes with blower and stakes for stability
Cons
Requires power source for blower
May take time to fully inflate
Why I Recommend It
The VIVOHOME Inflatable Outdoor Movie Projector Screen is a fantastic option for those who need a large screen for outdoor movie nights. Its diagonally 2 foot bigger than the Gemmy model listed above and while it doesn’t have the same stack height of the base it does match it in build quality.
The inflatable design makes it easy to set up, and the included blower and stakes ensure stability during use. The polyester fabric provides a good quality image, and the large screen sizes make it ideal for big gatherings. While it requires a power source for the blower and may take some time to inflate, the VIVOHOME screen is a great choice for those who want a big, bold outdoor screen.

Setup Time: 3 Minutes
Pros
Large screen size for family gatherings
Extremely affordable
Includes fan for inflation
Cons
Requires power source for blower
Not as portable as smaller models
Why I Recommend It
This terribly named projector makes the list because I actually know two people who took a chance on it because it was so cheap. That chance paid off because, having seen it, it’s perfectly useable and functional. While absolutely nothing blew me away about the build quality or the design, it was the price I couldn’t get my head around. The projector is 16 feet diagonal, so on the bigger side, it includes the fan in the purchase price. It can receive images from front and rear, and it felt surprisingly durable. So how, in the name of Lawdy, did they manage to price this with an RRP of $150? That just seems a bit crazy. But what was even crazier was that when I went to buy one, there were massive discounts to be had if you look around.
It's not going to be as well built, but if you plan on using it 10-20 times a year, I think you will get plenty of years to use out it. The screen on the one I tested had been used 12 times and was relatively wrinkle-free but did have lines from storage that could be smoothed out. It's not the bells-and-whistles model like some of the others, but as you can probably guess, I have bought this one and will publish a review around the 20-use mark. So far, I’m four times in (5 with a test setup) and have absolutely nothing bad to say.

6. Wootfairy 180 inch stable screen
Specifications
Screen Size: 180inch (15ft)
Material: Polyester fabric
Setup Time: 20 minutes
Pros
Doesn’t require a fan
very stable once setup
Not susceptible to deflating
Cons
Quite a bit more labour intensive to setup and take down
Slightly heavy to carry around
Why I Recommend It
I know I said inflatable screens but hear me out. This is the second option I opted for, and I don’t think it will be the right call for everyone. For me, I opted to buy projectors and an inflatable that I could just pop up or take camping. That's the cheap one above, but I also wanted something more semi-permanent and capable of being used backed against a wall, and that’s where this model comes in. You see, the inflatable projectors all have a large protrusion of material out the back to form a stable base. That means you need to have space behind the projector to use it (think of in a garden etc). I have a covered area in the garden and wanted to be able to have the projector up in there, and with this, I can mount it almost flush to the wall.
Build quality-wise, I think it’s all fairly good. I'm not blown away by the quality of the stands, but they are sturdy and well-made, even though they are not a luxury finish. The quality of the screen is fantastic, though, and because you remove the screen from the stands and fold it separately for storage, unlike my inflatable one, it hasn’t developed any wrinkles. Inflatable projectors also don’t allow you to change the height, whereas this one mounted on two tripods can be moved up and down.
Obviously, I lost out on the convenience of the quick setup of the other one, so that’s why I ended up with two. One for convenience and one for picture quality. This one is a bit more expensive but I am very happy with my choice.

8. OUTTOY 20-Foot Inflatable Movie Screen
Specifications
Screen Size: 20 feet diagonal
Material: Polyester fabric
Setup Time: 5-10 minutes
Pros
Massive screen size for large outdoor events
Quick setup with included blower
Durable fabric and stable design
Cons
Requires a large space for setup
Continuous power needed for blower
Why I Recommend It
The OUTTOY 20-Foot Inflatable Movie Screen is perfect for those who want to host large outdoor events. The 20-foot screen size provides a truly immersive experience, making it ideal for big gatherings.
The screen is easy to inflate with the included blower, and the durable polyester fabric is designed to withstand outdoor conditions. It requires a large space and continuous power for the blower and even then i think its ’s hard to keep that elevated bottom bar inflated. Just the size and weight of it means there will be some sag in the bottom bar and this particular design is better suited to the 14ft model listed above. Still, it's big and priced competitively, so if you have a strong blower, it could be a good option.
Considerations for Choosing an Inflatable Projector Screen
When selecting an inflatable projector screen, consider the following factors:
Screen Size: Choose a screen size that fits your outdoor space and provides a large, immersive viewing experience.
Durability: Look for screens made from durable, weather-resistant materials that can withstand outdoor conditions.
Ease of Setup: Consider screens that are easy to inflate and deflate, with included blowers and stability features.
Portability: Ensure the screen is easy to transport and store, especially if you plan to use it in different locations.
Other things I found useful to consider when choosing my own screens were whether I wanted the ability to back project onto the screen. This meant that I didn’t have to have the projector in between my friends and that there would be no walking in front of the beam or cables out front to trip over.
Another point I hadn’t originally considered was found when I bought the cheap inflatable projector. I realised it need space and couldn’t be mounted too close to the wall which led me to buying the tripod screen from wootfairy. For me it worked out well as having both styles of scene is good for me in different scenarios.
You may wish to consider the ability to remove the screens on some models, as it makes removing wrinkles easier. In practice, though, it’s not as important as you would think because once your projector is on, you hardly notice the wrinkles, just maybe the larger creases from folding.
