JBL Tune 510BT review

JBL Tune 510BT Headphone

Introduction

In this review, we'll be looking at the JBL Tune 510BT, which is a popular Bluetooth headphone that comes in at just under $100. This device is unique because it has many features you will find on headphones that cost a lot more money. In the past few years, it has proven to be one of the most heavily purchased headphones worldwide. JBL is a company with a lot of products, some of which are good but they have their fair share of mistakes. We want to find out if this headphone is a winner or loser. Read the rest of our review for our impressions and recommendations.

In the box

The packaging is really standard consumer fair from JBL. It's a consumer-like experience that tells you a lot about the headphones inside. Strong graphics and lots of information are the design and the headphones are protected inside safety packaging to ensure they arrive at you safe and sound. Not a luxury product but a nice all-around first impression. The JBL Tune 510BT comes packaged in a box that includes:

  • JBL Tune 510BT

  • USB-C cable

  • 3.5mm audio cable

  • manual/warranty card

Design

The JBL Tune 510BT is a headband-style Bluetooth headset that has a basic but functional design. It has a built-in microphone and a built-in battery. Its a budget headphone but has good build quality overall. The headphone can fold flat for easy storage, making them ideal for travel.

Features

  • Bluetooth 5.0

  • No aptX codec support which is expected at this price.

  • Microphone for voice calls and recording sounds.

  • Controls to play/pause music, change tracks and make phone calls without having to take out your phone from your pocket or bag.

  • Voice prompts such as “power on” and “pairing mode” when powering up the headphone or connecting it with devices respectively.

  • 3.5mm audio jack if you want to use it in wired mode instead of wireless connections (but then you will miss out on all its amazing features).

  • USB charging port and cable included that can also be used for powering up other gadgets like smartphones and tablets too!

  • Quickcharge lets you get back to listening to music fast when the battery is flat

  • Support for digital assistants like Siri and Google

Battery life and connectivity

The JBL Tune 510BT has an incredibly long battery life of 40 hours, which means you will be charging around once a week with average use. It also has a quick charge feature that gives 2 hours of music from a 5-minute charge. This means you can quickly juice up your headset when it's about to die, but you'll be tethered to your phone until you're done charging.

The Bluetooth connectivity is solid, but not spectacular. You can connect to multiple devices simultaneously thanks to its multi-device functionality, which is great if you switch between your computer and smartphone as I do.

Battery life aside, we were impressed by how easy it was to pair the iPhone 13 Pro and Google Pixel 6 with the headphones (and vice versa). All we had to do was press and hold down the pairing button on our device and then tap on it on our phone’s settings. We heard an alert saying "Connected." From there on out everything worked automatically—once again proving just how seamless connecting devices should be today

Sound Quality

JBL Tune 510BT

One of the most important things to consider when you're looking for a new pair of headphones is sound quality. After all, you'll be listening to music, podcasts, and audiobooks on these things for hours at a time.

The JBL Tune 510BT is a competent Bluetooth headset that offers great battery life and good sound quality at an affordable price.

The JBL Tune 510BT delivers solid audio performance, with a clear and detailed sound that's well-balanced overall. The highs are sharp but not too high, which keeps them from sounding harsh. Mids are clear and detailed as well, while the bass is punchy without being overwhelming or boomy. There's enough low-frequency presence here to give music plenty of punch without getting muddy or muddy-sounding. In general, this is a balanced headphone that does a good job at staying on the side of being neutral without sacrificing too much detail in any area of the frequency spectrum.

There is no noise cancelation but it really does block out ambient sounds effectively so you can focus on your music or podcasts without distraction from what's going on around you—especially when walking outside on busy streets like me!

I also like how lightweight these headphones feel compared with other models I've tested so far; they don't weigh down my head like some others do after wearing them for extended periods (and sometimes even fall off). Overall I'm very impressed by how comfortable these earbuds feel when worn during long listening sessions!

Conclusion

The JBL Tune 510BT is a competent Bluetooth headset that offers great battery life and good sound quality at an affordable price. It's not perfect, but it's one of the best options for Android users who want a budget headset without compromising on features like powerful bass, voice control, USBC, and excellent battery life.

Stozz Audio

Stozz audio was started over a decade ago with the goal of informing people about new Audio products. We wanted to create a site with unbiased and informed reviews that didn’t confuse people with audiophile terminology. Most people just want good-sounding speakers and headphones, they don’t have time to learn the lingo so we keep things simple.

Over the past few years, we have built up a team of writers that have experience in the sales, distribution, and installation of many high-end audio products. This allows us to contrast and compare our reviews and give buyers a better understanding of what’s available on the market.
