Introduction

The Tozo NC9 is budget noise-canceling earbuds that offer impressive features, battery life, and sound quality for the money. They are priced as one of the cheapest ANC Earbuds on the market today and have a lot of competition from other Chinese manufacturers.

In this review, we will go over some of the main pros and cons of this product so you can decide if it’s worth the price or not.

Availability

What’s in the box?

The Tozo NC9 earbuds come with the following in the box:

  • Tozo NC9 earbuds

  • A charging case.

  • Charging cable (Usb-C), which connects to your USB port to charge up the case and/or your phone

  • User manual (some of these things are pretty confusing)

  • 3 sizes of earbuds to ensure a secure fit

Tozo NC9 Features

  • Bluetooth 5.0

The Tozo NC9 features Bluetooth 5.0, a newer version of the standard for wireless connectivity for headphones and other devices. The major benefit of Bluetooth 5 is faster data transfer rates and better range, which means you can stream higher-quality audio content to your headphones with fewer dropouts than ever before.

  • Noise-canceling

Like many active noise-canceling earphones on the market today, the Tozo NC9 is designed to reduce the ambient noise around you so that you can enjoy your music without distraction from outside sources like airplanes or crowded subways.

  • 10 hours of battery life

With up to 10 hours of playback time between charges—and 15 minutes of charging giving an hour's worth of playtime—the Tozo NC9 provides plenty of listening time before needing another charge (or two).

  • IPX6 Water-Resistant

The fact that something so cheap includes waterproofing is surprising but we have been using them for a week now in the gym and had no issues at all. This is going to make them a good set of cheap earbuds for the gym as well as protect the earbuds from spills and rain.

  • Touch Controls

Both earbuds can be used to control your music playback through the handy inbuilt touch controls. One tap to play/pause, double-tap to skip a track and three taps to toggle noise canceling. You can also use the touch controls to answer and hang calls.

Battery Life

The battery life on the Tozo NC9 is quite impressive, coming in at 10 hours without ANC oX and 6 hours with noise canceling turned on. The charging case comes with an additional 24 hours of battery life and a quick charge feature that allows you to get two hours of playtime in just ten minutes!

Build Quality

The Tozo NC9’s are a great choice for someone looking for an affordable pair of wireless earbuds with the good build quality. The body and charging case is made entirely out of plastic, but they feel sturdy and well-built.

The earbuds themselves are quite small but will fit medium and large ears best. They also are fairly lightweight so they should stay in place during physical activity.

The ear tips come in three sizes (S, M, L) which is pretty standard for this kind of product and they seem to be made out of average-quality silicone material that doesn’t hurt my ears after wearing them for hours at a time like some others I’ve tried before.

Sound Quality

Overall, the sound quality of the Tozo NC9 is decent.

The soundstage is small which may be something to consider if you like to listen to classical or jazz music that benefits from wide soundstages (like Beethoven’s 9th Symphony). Male vocals sound good due to warmth in the midrange while female vocals lack clarity due to sibilance issues when pushed hard (this can be solved by adjusting EQ settings on your phone).

Overall I think the sound is decent when I consider both the price and the features. Do they sound amazing? No, but they also don’t sound bad and work perfectly well to listening to pop, rock, EDM, and hip hop. If you want something significantly better sounding you will have to forgo some functionality or increase your budget.

Pros and Cons

  • Excellent value for money.

  • The sound quality isn’t amazing, but for the price and with the features it’s good value.

  • Long battery life with the option of extending by turning off ANC.

  • Good noise canceling.

  • Good fit.

  • Lacks the premium feel of more expensive IEM’s

Conclusion

The Tozo NC9 is a great option for anyone looking for a good pair of noise-canceling headphones. They’re affordable, have decent battery life, and sound decent. They do have some downsides though such as build materials that keep them from being perfect. They are good all-around headphones that represent good value for money. There’s plenty to like about this one so it definitely gets our recommendation.

Stozz Audio

Stozz audio was started over a decade ago with the goal of informing people about new Audio products. We wanted to create a site with unbiased and informed reviews that didn’t confuse people with audiophile terminology. Most people just want good-sounding speakers and headphones, they don’t have time to learn the lingo so we keep things simple.

Over the past few years, we have built up a team of writers that have experience in the sales, distribution, and installation of many high-end audio products. This allows us to contrast and compare our reviews and give buyers a better understanding of what’s available on the market.
