Pricing Information
With Youthwhisper headphones not being available in stores, we recommend buying them via Amazon due to consumer protection. While we know Youthwhisper sell the headphones directly, we haven’t tested their customer service, so we cannot in good conscience recommend you buy from their website unless you are not in a region covered by Amazon.

How does bone conduction work?
If you are new to bone-conduction headphones, you might wonder about the fuss. How can I hear something that doesn't make an audible sound? How can I hear music through my bones?
According to Salus University, bone conduction headphones use two transducers: one on each side of the headphone that vibrates against your temporal bone – inside your jawbone – which then translates into small vibrations throughout your body, including inside your ear canal. That’s why you can listen to music while working out and still be spatially aware, as your eardrums are still free to function as expected!
Why should I use bone-conduction headphones?
Bone conduction headphones are more comfortable than traditional headphones.
You can hear your surroundings with bone-conduction headphones, making them perfect for sports and other activities where you need to be aware of what’s happening around you. These are particularly important when jogging or cycling, as cars and pedestrians will be able to see you and hear you coming.
Bone conduction headphones let you listen to music hands-free, so they’re great if you want to answer calls while working out or enjoy some time outdoors.

Battery Life
The Youthwhisper Bone-conduction headphones have 8-hour battery life and can be charged with a micro USB cable. The battery life is pretty good, but charging it does take some time, and there is no quick charge function. In our test, we took around 2 hours to fully charge the unit, which is 30 mins longer than the company claimed. Luckily, you can use the headphones while they are charging and when fully charged, although this might look a little strange.
You can also plug them into your computer or power bank to charge them (or even better yet, plug them into a wall outlet). This means that if you’re traveling and don’t have access to USB ports on your computer or smartphone, you still won’t be left stranded without music!
Comfort
Comfort is essential for a good pair of headphones. You want to be able to wear them for long periods of time without getting irritated or uncomfortable. Youthwhisper Bone Conduction Headphones are incredibly comfortable, which means you can use them for hours without paying any attention to the fact that you're wearing them.
They're lightweight and easy to wear, so they won't weigh your head down or give you a headache after an hour or two. They're also effortless to clean--just wipe them off with a damp cloth if they get dirty!
Pairing and Operation
The Youthwisper have Bluetooth 5.0, which is a very recent standard, and we found that pairing them took seconds. The connection was also very stable, up to 10 meters meaning if you are doing CrossFit or just away from your device, you still have room to travel before the sound degrades.
Operating them couldn't be simpler once connected. You have buttons on the battery packs that allow you to control playback and adjust the volume. I have to say I do miss buttons as we have here. Many competitors use touch-sensitive controls that are sweaty and don't work when you're working out. So bonus point to youth whisper for keeping things traditional.
Through these controls, I could also take calls, and while the quality wasn't phenomenal, it was good enough for a quick conversation. My issue was that the speaker sounded quieter than the volume of the music I listened to. The only real solution was to like the person I was talking to be louder, as adjusting the buttons would have hung the call. Still, this isn't an issue if you don't intend to make calls.
Sound Quality
In terms of sound quality, these headphones are pretty good. They're not exceptional, but they sound better than the many other budget bone-conduction headphones we tested. However, they don't have the same level of sound quality as regular earbuds or over-ear headphones. Even brands like Shokz, considered the category leaders, have struggled to display bass accurately, which is, unfortunately, the case here.
Now to be clear, it's not that there isn't bass, but with bone-conduction headphones, you don't feel the bass in the same way you do with traditional headphones. That's because air isn't moving, and thus no pressure changes in your ear canals. It's a different bass that takes a little getting used to.
If you want to hear all the details in your music and hear it clearly, these aren't the right choice for you—but if all you care about is getting a decent listening experience without having to take off your helmet or hat (or glasses), then these might be just what you're looking for! The display of the music is very matters of factly, with no embellishment or coloration.
Due to the bass experience, many people will find that they sound flat and uncolored, which is true. However, they get the job done and give you something to listen to while providing all the safety benefits listed above. Would I have them as my only set of headphones? No, but I will definitely keep using them when working out outdoors.
One thing I would like to add is that they do sound great for some reason with podcasts and audiobooks, so if you are someone that listens to a lot of them, they will be perfect for you.
Conclusion
In conclusion, these headphones are perfect for cyclists and runners thinking about getting bone-conduction headphones but don't want to spend much money. They have a comfortable design and work well whilst providing many safety benefits. While I'm not recommending them as someone's sole set of headphones,
I can definitely recommend them to people looking for something to work out with. Good product lacking only a little in terms of refinement against more expensive models but at a far cheaper price.
